Essential Thoughts

Blog I

When we learn

To accept diversity as a powerful attribute.

To accept differences as the norm

To accept different skin colours, religion, mores, and concepts of justice.

To accept that all living things are equal regardless of their thought patterns and cognitive skills.

To escape from the heavy ballast of the past mind-set and embrace unbiased thought as a guide to the future.

To preserve this enlightenment beyond our brief existence and pass it on to those who will carry it into the future.

To drive the development of our species to beyond our current limits through our ability to manipulate our own structure.

To vastly extend life and memories beyond forgetting.

To explore our inner self and discover the vastness of the untapped mind.

To look inwards for the secrets of the outward.

To look to love, happiness and internal peace as the ultimate guide.

Only then

Will we be ready to deal with the wonders and diversities of the Universe.

But remember

All we ever needed for this journey has always been provided to us on our tiny planet  Earth.

Human intelligence is pretty basic.  It all comes down to sorting numbers and events.

The faster you can sort, the higher your IQ.  If you can sort faster than those around you, then you are the winner. Have you ever played Spider Solitaire?  If so, you will likely understand what I mean.

Advanced human intelligence is something different.  Based on intuition, feelings, and insight, it can transcend to levels of understanding that we do not experience in our everyday lives.

Most of us never experience this. Those who do are usually limited to fleeting moments of clarity that quickly disappear from our memories. The challenge is to capture these thoughts.

Let’s Save Our Planet! A Passionate Plea

For decades we’ve heard global warming was coming with disastrous effects.  Well, that day is here, baking many parts of the world and its oceans with extreme heat never before experienced in recorded history.  Huge wildfires, tornadoes, hurricanes, floods and sinkholes swallowing neighborhoods are ever more common and more destructive.  Turning back this climate disaster is a race we have hardly begun and are losing ground faster than we can catch up.

I cannot sit by and watch our beloved earth and its creatures struggle.

Waiting for world leaders to “fix it” won’t work.  We must act now as ordinary citizens of the world.  We need to own this problem and strive towards a solution!

The good news?  We have a head start on a path to follow. During the pandemic many of us who were not essential workers worked from home. We weren’t flying, driving or going to school.  We ordered groceries and necessities enabling one driver to make multiple deliveries instead of each of us making individual trips. The earth responded beautifully!

Large city skylines were cleared after decades of smog with a clear blue sky above.  Globally there were mountains visible from nearby homes hidden previously by air pollution.

The earth was breathing again and it was a beautiful thing!

So, what if those of us who can do so all agreed to stay home for the same day each month and worked towards that same day each week?  I’m not suggesting a massive shutdown or expecting children to stay home from school, but  staying home on the very same day together will give the earth a full day to clean the air.   It isn’t going to solve the climate crisis, but it could be a start! It could make a statement and a call to action for corporations, congregations, elected officials and others.

I know there are those who will say that it won’t happen, can’t happen, won’t work, but I want to hear from those who think it can! I want to hear your ideas about how we achieve this.

Our first decision is to agree on which day to choose.  Which day of the month will work best and why?

Let’s start a movement across the globe.
